  • Contents

Treatise on gnomic criticism, dealing with the attribution of apophtegms and proverbs to the Seven Sages (1) and with a gnome of Dionysius of Syracuse (2); because of the erudition of the text, the absence of a transition between the two parts and the self-confident tone at the end of the treatise, we are possibly dealing here with 2 fragments of the Symposiaka or Symmikta of Didymus the grammarian, although this certainly does not mean that the papyrus gives us a precise and integral reproduction of the Alexandrian work.
